Buy NowThe Wearmasters Souvenir Jacket is a refined take on the classic sukajan – recreated with the elegance of a 1940s-50s shirt jacket rather than the sportier proportions of a modern souvenir jacket. The result is a piece that sits comfortably between jacket and shirt – lightweight, elegant, and effortlessly wearable across styling.
The fabric is a 100% rayon satin that faithfully recreates the drape and sheen of vintage sukajan cloth – smooth, lustrous, and lightweight, with the gentle body that defined the originals. The silhouette is a short, semi-loose cut built around key details of the era: an open collar, a concealed front fly, cuffed sleeves, two flap chest pockets, and a distinctive buttoned waist tab at the hem that gives the jacket its refined, dress-shirt character.
The embroidery is where the piece reveals its exceptional level of craftsmanship. Every motif is applied using the rare hand-guided sewing machine technique – a slow, considered method that gives each stitch its own individual character. Vibrant Japanese color palettes and layered stitch work create real dimensional depth across the fabric, bringing the classical dragon and tiger motifs to life across the back, sleeves, and chest. The back features a full composition of a dragon in swirling clouds paired with a tiger among bamboo, framed by 'Japan' in embroidered script – while the front carries 'Attractions' and 'Tokyo' embroidered above the chest pockets, alongside additional dragon medallions across the body and sleeves.
Every element speaks to Attractions x Wearmasters' commitment to preserving the timeless elegance of postwar Japanese textile craftsmanship – reinterpreted for a modern wardrobe.
Fit Notes: This jacket runs small. Compared to most global American brands, we recommend sizing up one from your usual size for the intended fit. As always, we strongly recommend checking our size chart and comparing it with your best-fitting shirt jacket to find the perfect fit.
