Inspired by its original issue to U. S. elite military units under the MIL‑W‑50717 specification in the 1970s, the BENRUS Type 2 Mil Spec is a modern reinterpretation of a veteran tool watch. Built for the field yet refined for civilian wear, this timepiece blends rugged heritage with contemporary precision.
The matte black dial features high‑contrast Arabic numerals, a 12/24‑hour inner track, and a clean layout designed for speed and legibility under pressure. Housed in a sand‑blasted 316L stainless steel case measuring 39. 5 mm in diameter and 14. 4 mm thick, the watch offers a lug‑to‑lug of around 47.
7 mm, delivering a wrist presence that is substantial yet wearable. The case includes a bidirectional bezel with a black aluminum insert and 12 hour scale, screw‑down crown, and double‑domed sapphire crystal with dual anti‑reflective coatings. Water resistance is rated at 365 m (1,200 ft), elevating it well beyond standard field watch requirements.
Powered by the reliable Swiss automatic ETA 2892A2 movement, the BENRUS Type 2 delivers approximately 42 hours of power reserve, hacking seconds, and robust performance suited to both adventure and everyday wear. Whether you’re drawn to its military pedigree or appreciate the industrial design aesthetic, this Mil‑Spec homage is at home in the field, at the office, or on your next expedition.
