History

The Jodhpur boot takes its name from the princely city of Jodhpur in Rajasthan, where skilled horsemen and royal cavalry required footwear that offered both stability and ease while riding. Its distinctive ankle strap was designed to secure the foot within the stirrup, providing confidence and control during long hours on horseback.

Adopted by British polo players and cavalry officers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the silhouette gradually evolved into a refined civilian style admired for its elegance and practicality. Within the Rajputana Collection, the Jodhpuri Boot reinterprets this enduring design, honoring a heritage of movement, discipline, and noble restraint shaped by the equestrian traditions of the desert.
