A layered construction of pitch black, burgundy, black crimson, and maple crimson, built around Japan's particular reading of autumn. The name refers directly to the crimson maple leaf emerging from darkness. It surfaces in its own time. As light moves across the shoe, faint red shows from within the black, present one moment and gone the next.
This reflects how autumn is understood in Japanese tradition. It carries its own weight, and a degree of melancholy that is accepted rather than avoided. The patina holds that same feeling: heavy black grounded by a low, steady red, like embers rather than a flame. *The style shown in the product photographs is presented to demonstrate the Yu-momiji Patina Concept.
This finish is available on almost every Made to Order style in Bridlen's Main Line and Founders Collection.
