Based on classic army denim trousers, this version is cut from 100% cotton white twill with a texture that intentionally recreates the character of older work fabrics. Small black flecks throughout the material reflect the less refined spinning methods of the era, when raw cotton fibers were processed with minimal refinement, giving the fabric a more natural, rugged appearance.
Historically associated with painters and industrial workers, white work trousers became practical for tradesmen painting light-colored surfaces, as paint splatters were less visible over time. This utilitarian background eventually gave rise to the now-classic 'painter pant' silhouette.
Simple, durable, and easy to wear, the Working Twill Painter Trousers capture the straightforward functionality of vintage American workwear through Buzz Rickson’s meticulous approach to reproduction. Made in Japan from 100% cotton.
