BUZZ RICKSON'S BR65622 Buzz Rickson Set-In Crew Neck Sweatshirt- Grey

About this product

The Buzz Rickson BR65622 Set-In Crew Neck Sweatshirt reproduces the classic cotton athletic sweatshirts that emerged as everyday American sportswear, eventually replacing heavier wool knit garments as a practical way to absorb sweat and provide warmth during physical activity. The style was quickly adopted by the military and military academies, where sweatshirts became readily available through PX stores across the United States.

The 100% cotton fabric is knitted on a traditional loopwheel machine using uneven tension, creating the distinctive softness and relaxed texture associated with vintage sweatshirts. This slow, traditional knitting method produces a fabric with excellent comfort and a natural character that only becomes better with wear.

Construction follows vintage athletic techniques, with a four-needle flat-seamer used throughout for durable, low-profile seams that remain comfortable against the skin. A classic V-shaped gusset rib is sewn into the front neckline, adding both reinforcement and a distinctive detail found on period sweatshirts.

Made in Japan, the BR65622 combines authentic American athletic styling with Buzz Rickson's meticulous reproduction of vintage materials and manufacturing methods.
