BUZZ RICKSON'S BR65622 Set-In Crewneck Sweatshirt Black

About this product

Some garments don't need reinvention. The Buzz Rickson's Set-In Crew Sweatshirt is one of them – a faithful reproduction of the classic American athletic sweatshirt, executed in Japan with the kind of precision and restraint that only a handful of manufacturers still bother with. Masters of historical reproductions, Buzz Rickson's bring the same uncompromising approach here that defines their celebrated military outerwear.

The body is knit from 100% cotton at 13oz, using 4-needle loopwheel machines dating back to the 1920s. These slow, vintage machines produce a dense, tightly-looped jersey that modern high-speed knitting simply cannot replicate – the result is a fabric with natural irregularities, real weight in the hand, and a surface that develops character with every wash and wear. No synthetic blends. No shortcuts.

True to its origins, the sweatshirt is constructed as a tube body – knit in the round with no side seams. This old-school method eliminates the discomfort of a seam pressing against the torso, while ensuring the garment retains its shape across the entire life of the sweatshirt. Set-in sleeves are paired with ribbed cuffs, a ribbed V detail at the neck, and a ribbed hem for a structured finish that holds its shape across years of wear.

All seams are constructed on 4-needle flat-seam machines, producing stitching that is virtually unbreakable – the kind of construction that quietly outlasts everything around it.

The kind of sweatshirt that ages alongside its owner – indestructible, honest, and exactly the way it should be.

Fit Notes: This sweatshirt runs small. Compared to most global American brands, we recommend sizing up one from your usual size for a comfortable fit. As always, we strongly recommend checking our size chart and comparing it with your best-fitting sweatshirt to ensure the right fit.
