BUZZ RICKSON'S BR69507 Freedom Sleeve Logo Sweatshirt Oatmeal

About this product

The Buzz Rickson's BR69507 Freedom Sleeve Logo Sweatshirt in Oatmeal is a meticulous reproduction of a rare 1940s–1950s design, originally developed to provide maximum freedom of movement. Unlike conventional sweatshirts, its unique S-shaped sleeve construction extends seamlessly from the shoulders to the sides, eliminating underarm seams for unparalleled comfort and mobility.

Made in Japan using vintage tubular knitting techniques, the body is knitted in a continuous tube – meaning there are no side seams, resulting in a smooth, comfortable wear against the skin. The fabric is a sturdy 13oz cotton jersey with a brushed interior that provides soft insulation and high heat retention, making it ideal for cooler weather. The warm oatmeal tone gives the sweatshirt a natural, vintage-worn appearance straight out of the box.

The construction features sturdy double-needle stitching, which forms the distinctive curved seam lines characteristic of the freedom sleeve design. Over time, these seams develop unique fades that trace the garment's structure, adding character and visual depth with every wear.

Due to the complexity and time-intensive nature of production, the original freedom sleeve design was only manufactured for a short period in history, making it one of the most sought-after silhouettes among heritage enthusiasts and vintage collectors. Buzz Rickson's brings it back with period-correct details and the craftsmanship it deserves.

Fit Notes: This sweatshirt runs small. Compared to most global American brands, we recommend sizing up one from your usual size for a comfortable fit. As a reference, we strongly recommend checking our size chart and comparing it with your best-fitting sweatshirt to ensure the right fit.
