BUZZ RICKSON'S BR78960 "Government Issue" Package T-Shirt Olive

About this product

The Buzz Rickson's BR78960 'Government Issue' Package T-Shirt is an authentic reproduction of the undershirts issued to U.S. military personnel during WWII. Originally designed as daily wear for servicemen, these shirts were built for comfort and resilience – able to withstand frequent washing under the most demanding conditions.

The fabric is a 7oz cotton jersey made from 20-count combed yarn spun from extra-long staple cotton, delivering exceptional softness and durability. The longer fibers produce a smoother, stronger yarn that resists pilling and maintains its hand feel through years of washing – a meaningful upgrade over standard short-staple cotton.

The cut is a boxy silhouette with a round body construction, replicating the original's simple, effective design. Construction features two-stitch sewing from the shoulders through the sleeves and hem, providing both comfort and long-term structural integrity, while the durable neck binding ensures the collar holds its shape over time. The moderate thickness makes it equally suited to layering or standalone wear.

Each T-shirt comes packaged in nostalgic government-issue style, honoring the original military distribution format – a thoughtful detail that reflects Buzz Rickson's commitment to historical accuracy.

Fit Notes: This T-shirt fits true to size before washing, but the fabric will shrink approximately half a size once cold-washed, resulting in a slightly smaller fit after wash. If you prefer a true-to-size fit after washing, we recommend sizing up one from your usual size. Compared to most global American brands, a size M (pre-wash) fits similarly to a standard American Medium that becomes slightly fitted after wash. As always, we strongly recommend checking our size chart and comparing it with your best-fitting T-shirt to ensure the right fit.
