Buy NowOfficially designated the 'Jacket, Winter, Combat,' the Tanker Jacket was originally developed during WWII as a general-issue winter jacket for the U. S. Army. It was later designated specifically for armoured troops, earning its familiar nickname, the 'Tank' or 'Tanker' jacket. Despite this, the practical design found its way into other Army units and even the Air Force.
With its simple, functional construction, the Tanker is also considered an early influence on the classic post-war windcheater jacket. Buzz Rickson’s faithfully reproduces the style using heavyweight materials and vintage-inspired detailing, making it a dependable cold-weather layer with plenty of WWII character.
Two slash pockets, wool blanket lining, knitted wool collar, cuffs & hem are the main features, while the cotton twill is water & wind resistant. 100% Cotton West point uniform twill Light olive drab 26oz wool blanket lining Authentic brass Conmar zipper Two slash pockets Knitted wool collar, cuffs & hem Buzz Rickson’s label Made in Japan
