Buy NowThis Cockpit USA belt buckle represents a 'Blood Chit'. Blood chits were used by U. S. aviators as a way of communicating with non-English-speaking people overseas. Originally made of leather, cotton, silk, or rayon patches, they served as an indicator for a downed aviator in need of help from local people.
If their aircraft was shot down, the notice identifies the American soldier and encourages the local population to assist them (often times involving a reward). Our vintage style 'Blood Chit' buckle design is made in homage to the valiant airmen who used the blood chit out in critical and life-or-death situations.
This Blood Chit Belt Buckle is both a practical and stylish, a distinguished accessory made for men and women alike. Our collection of gunmetal belt buckles can be paired with a leather belt for a rugged yet polished look, or a cotton web belt for a more casual approach to your personal style.
