Coherence take their inspiration from well-known and legendary artists while their take on classic outerwear is elevated by their focus on in-house fabric design, carefully considered detailing and a central focus on fit. Following on from the introduction of their Western Shirt to their line-up, this seasonal option is a cracker!
This new offering from Coherence is inspired by a Western shirt owned by Georgia O'Keeffe, an American painter who created innovative impressionist images that challenged perceptions and evolved constantly throughout her career. She was one of the first female painters to achieve worldwide acclaim from critics and the general public.
The shirt takes its name from an area in the North of New Mexico, where O'Keeffe called home and an area she found particularly stimulating. Taking the form of a Shorthorn Western Shirt, this version from Coherence is cut in Japan from the brands exclusive aero cloth linen, similar to aertex, used by the British Army in the 50s for hot climates.
Crafted from a linen–rayon mesh, this shirt is exceptionally breathable with a fluid, easy drape. Linen brings natural strength and cooling performance, while rayon adds softness and a smooth hand feel, creating a balanced fabric ideal for warm-weather wear. The Abiquiu Western Shirt features matching thread colours to the original example the shirt is based on, while two chest pockets have been paired with a snap button front.
An original woven Coherence label completes the look. 83 % linen / 17% rayon mesh Exclusive aero cloth linen Based on Western Shirt owned by Georgia O'keeffe Shorthorn style Two chest pockets w/snap closure Snap front Woven Coherence label Made in Japan
