Coherence take their inspiration from well-known and legendary artists while their take on classic outerwear is elevated by their focus on in-house fabric design, carefully considered detailing and a central focus on fit. Here we have one of the brands signature models, the FouFou II.
This Coat has two main sources of inspiration; one being a snap photo of Japanese artist Leonard Foujita at Deauville shore in 1928 and the other is a Motoring Coat of the same era that had the same design details with no belt and double breast. FouFou comes from the French for 'Mad Mad', taken from the image of Foujita during Ecole de Paris era and inspired by his unique looks and attitude.
The Fou Fou II is cut in Japan from 100% water repellent cotton gabardine designed by the Coherence in-house team and exclusive to the brand. An over-sized fit and silhouette provides a nod to vintage garments and gives the vintage style 'A-Line' silhouette. Other features include raglan sleeves, an oversized collar, real horn buttons and side-entry storm pockets with internal access.
All Coherence garments are Made in Japan to the highest level of standards hard to find on ready-to-wear garments. 100% cotton Gabardine / showerproof Fabric designed exclusively by in-house Coherence team Inspired by image of Japanese artist Leonard Foujita from 1928 Eight button double breasted fastening Raglan sleeves Horizontal striped lining based on a shirt worn by Jean Cocteau Oversized collar Real horn buttons Side entry horn pockets w/ internal access Made in Japan
