Horween’s Dearborn Leather Handmade in Northampton, England Unlined and French bound Inserted structure Footbed cork filled by hand Sustainable Lactae Hevea sole The Harlestone was our first and most popular sneaker in our hand stitch collection, it had to be adapted to fit into Crown Northampton’s unlined Collection.
Our aim, to make the softest luxury sneaker possible that still moulds to your foot, does not loose shape and lasts many a resole. We achieved this by spending a year developing an old skill once used by Haynes and Cann Ltd, the Northampton RAF boot manufacturer, from 1919 to 2010.
A process where thick leather is split and the structure (toe puff) is inserted allowing the toe box to not require lining. We developed this technique to also add structure to the heel and facing making what we consider to be the perfect holiday sneaker, crafted by the knowledge of our predecessors for todays more casual relaxed style.
