Buy NowThe Type II Trucker Jacket was introduced in 1953, evolving from the earlier Type I with a more structured and practical design. Featuring two chest pockets with buttoned flaps, a pleated front, and adjustable back tabs for a refined fit, the Type II quickly became a staple for workers and style icons alike.
Favoured by legendary figures such as Steve McQueen and Paul Newman, this design represents a key moment in denim history, bridging the gap between utilitarian workwear and everyday wear.
Our Dawson Type II Trucker Jacket is now expertly crafted in Okayama, Japan, using a white-line selvedge denim woven from organic cotton and plant-dyed indigo – a faithful reproduction of 1950s denim. Every detail stays true to the original, from the double pleats and reinforced stitching to the authentic back cinch tabs that allow for a customisable fit.
Produced in strictly limited numbers, each jacket is meticulously sewn on mid-century industrial sewing machinesfor durability and authenticity. Once complete, it is checked and shipped from our workshop in East Sussex, Great Britain to ensure the highest level of craftsmanship.
A true icon of denim history, built to last for decades to come.
