Buy NowPatterned to Perfection Navy Blue and Versatile Tiles Bow ties were once as common as long neckties, and in recent years they have enjoyed a resurgence in popularity. We designed this bow to take advantage of the best of both worlds, combining a rare vintage pattern with a colorway that can be easily paired with most of the garments and accessories already in your wardrobe.
A Rediscovered Pattern The 'fancy tile' pattern was common during the Golden Age of Menswear but fell out of favor during the 1970s when it was unfairly lumped in with more psychedelic prints. Raphael discovered this particular pattern in an old vintage shop and it inspired him to introduce a similar design into our Fort Belvedere line.
This iteration features a light navy background with white, mauve, and blue fancy tiles. A Color For Day or Night Navy blue is one of the most common colors in menswear, affording countless opportunities for pairing. For daytime wear, a business suit in gray or blue will have a formal, refined effect that is visually enhanced by the subtle mauve detailing in the fancy tiles.
Conversely, a lighter suit will contrast with the navy tone, emphasizing the bow tie as a resplendent statement piece as part of any dandified ensemble. As day turns to night, this bow tie is still up to the challenge, providing an understated elevation to evening ensembles. Whether out with friends, on a date, or even at a reception, this bow tie can be situated within many dress codes to provide an unobtrusive but still alluring element to your outfit.
