NATIVE AMERICANA FOR ALL TO WEAR
INSPIRATION: STEVEN PAUL JUDD'S PAINTINGS
CULTURE COMES TO LIFE
Native Americana made for all to wear = Native + Non-Native. The only rule: WEAR WITH SPIRIT!
This interpretation is inspired by Judd's painting of Tȟatȟáŋka Íyotake (Sitting Bull in Lakota). The print is a double-headed Sitting Bull image and duplicated to emulate the positioning of a king on a playing card.
Sitting Bull - Hunkpapa Lakota. A Chief who, like all Native Americans, impacts our lives through their history that created the present and the tomorrows yet to come. The hues of this wild rag honor the natural American Plains' sunsets, Sitting Bull's homeland. The profile of Sitting Bull is printed with a geometric pattern in the background and a split fountain of sunset colors. Judd's signature + Ginew is printed in the bottom right corner - making it a signed piece of art.
Historically, wild rags were worn by peoples of the West for protection from the elements, used to strain water, or even as a bandage. Today, you can be as creative as your personality or as reflective as your mood - tie in a square or buckaroo knot, as interior design or whatever moves you. Made for all to wear… the only rule: WEAR WITH SPIRIT.
