Buy NowThe H.E.S. Cagoule is made in South Shields, just a few minutes down the road from our North East base. This cagoule is produced in a stamped run of 40 per colour and built the way the originals were meant to be. Simple, functional and quietly overbuilt.
The cloth is British Millerain 100% cotton dry wax, cut from Ranger 8. It is proofed enough for daily wear and everyday showers, but can be rewaxed if you want to push the weather resistance further. Unlike many waxed cottons, it needs no lining, keeping the jacket lighter, more breathable and easier to wear.
Details are kept practical throughout: raglan sleeves for movement, a three-piece hood, YKK metal zip with windbreak, cotton herringbone drawcords and bar tacks across key points. The front hip pockets are cut large enough for maps, a small nod to the explorer cagoules that shaped the pattern.
