Heavily inspired by all elements of vintage clothing & design, Haversack incorporate components of military wear, workwear, dress & uniform to create a truly inspiring collection. The vintage atelier coat, often associated with the French bleu de travail (blue work) chore coat or a craftsman’s lab coat, originates from late 19th-century France as essential utilitarian workwear.
Built for durability and practicality, these coats were worn by artisans, painters, and labourers, eventually becoming a cornerstone of European fashion history. Haversack's version is cut in Japan from a cotton/wool herringbone blend with a unique, worn-in texture, sourced from Bianco Tessut, an Italian company that specialises in creating fabric with an antique/vintage like quality.
The Atelier Coat features classic details, including four patch-and-flap pockets, pass-through pockets, and strongly curved sleeves with a forward tilt, creating a refined, vintage-inspired finish. 79% cotton / 17% wool / 4% nylon Cotton / Wool herringbone blend Fabric from Bianco Tessut Inspired by vintage Atelier / work coats Four patch & flap pockets Pass through pockets Curved sleeves Button cuff adjuster on sleeves Made in Japan
