Buy NowOur Premium Japanese 4-WAY STRETCH SELVEDGE ™ denim story starts in Japan where our fabric is developed at one of the oldest denim mills. We blend a unique 4 way stretch material with selvedge denim to create a specific amount of stretch and comfort you wouldn’t typically get with selvedge denim.
This 360 degree of stretch gives the wearer comfort from every angle no matter what they are doing. Kato’s respect for denim is rooted in decades of exploration and craftsmanship. Drawing from years of research and hands-on experience, we’ve recreated the distinct character of the most coveted denim from the 1950s to 1970s.
Each fabric is crafted with precision to mirror the uniform texture and authentic fade patterns found in the vintage pieces preserved in the Kato archives – an homage to denim’s golden era, reimagined for today. The Hammer Straight fit in Indigo 4 Way Stretch Selvedge with a tinted fade to replicate the true look of hard earned vintage fades. The kind of wear that can’t be rushed. • 96% Cotton 4% Polyurethane
