Hiut Denim The Astrid - Barrel Fit - Rinse Wash

About this product

The Astrid – Barrel Fit Rinse Wash The Astrid is our barrel fit jean. A shape designed to offer ease, movement and a distinctive silhouette. The fit sits comfortably at the waist before curving gently through the leg and narrowing slightly towards the ankle. This subtle shape creates a relaxed profile that feels modern while remaining easy to wear.

Barrel fits are valued for their balance. They provide room where it matters most – through the hip and thigh – while maintaining a structured silhouette that avoids feeling oversized. The Astrid captures that balance, creating a shape that feels relaxed yet intentional. This version is cut from organic denim, chosen for its durability and the way it develops character with time.

When new, the fabric has a reassuring structure that holds the shape of the jean. As the denim is worn, it gradually softens and fades, creating natural patterns that make each pair unique. Handmade and Rinse washed in Aberteifi by our Grandmaster Rob, whose years of experience refining wash recipes at Hiut Denim ensure every pair strikes the right balance between softness, character and authenticity.

The result is a jean with a softer hand feel that will continue to age beautifully with every wear. Every pair of Astrid jeans is handcrafted in Aberteifi, Wales by the Grand Masters who make up our small team. By focusing on making jeans – and only jeans – we’re able to give careful attention to the details that help them last.

Reinforced back pockets strengthen one of the most common points of wear. Strong stitching supports seams that carry the most stress, helping the jeans maintain their shape over years of use. And because good jeans should stay with you, every pair comes with free repairs for life.

The Astrid is a modern barrel fit designed for everyday life. Comfortable, distinctive and built to last.
