The Jackman Lead-Off T-shirt is meticulously crafted in Japan using 100% US-grown cotton sourced from the fertile Mississippi River Basin, spun through an innovative air-spinning technique. This process twists cotton fibers of varying lengths (approximately 13mm to 33mm) into yarn using centrifugal force – yielding a crisp, textured surface notable for its rugged, dry 'rice-cotton' hand feel.
The fabric sits at a mid-weight balance – neither too thick nor too thin – making this T-shirt comfortable across the full warm season, from spring to the end of summer. The slightly rough, dry texture against the skin gives it character far beyond a standard cotton tee, while remaining breathable and easy to wear.
In this version, the fabric is pigment-dyed, lending the cotton a soft, dynamic wash of color that gives the garment a more vintage character – ideal for those who appreciate lived-in, slightly faded aesthetics from day one. With wear and washing, the color continues to evolve, deepening the tee's personal patina.
The neckline is finished with thick three-roll binder construction in 100% cotton, sandwiching the body fabric to prevent the collar from stretching out over time. Skilled Japanese sewing techniques ensure the neckline sits cleanly against the body. Side slits add a touch of vintage comfort and style – completing a timeless, refined silhouette.
Fit Notes: Unlike the Dotsume, which runs small, the Lead-Off T-shirt fits true to size. Compared to most global American brands, we recommend taking your usual size for a comfortable fit. As always, we strongly recommend checking our size chart and comparing it with your best-fitting T-shirt to ensure the right fit.
