The fabric is an original 12oz sanforized selvedge denim that combines an authentic, classic appearance with a surprisingly lightweight feel and soft, comfortable hand. Woven at Japan Blue's own mill in Kojima, Okayama, the cloth carries the honest character of traditional selvedge production alongside the refined touch that defines the brand today. The warp threads are dyed with pure indigo, developing a remarkably faithful, natural blue tone as the denim gradually fades over time.
The silhouette is a classic Type II denim jacket – reinterpreted with a modern edge. While maintaining the traditional look of the era, the jacket features streamlined arms and body with a slightly shorter length, delivering a cleaner, more contemporary profile that pairs beautifully with both denim and tailored trousers.
Construction includes double chest pockets with flaps – the defining Type II detail – alongside waist pockets positioned discreetly along the side seams and inner pockets for a clean, functional design. Minimalist finishing throughout preserves the refined visual identity of the new Selvedge line, allowing the fabric and fit to define the piece.
Fit Notes: This jacket fits true to size. Compared to most global American brands, a size 42 fits similarly to a standard American Large. We recommend taking your usual size for the intended fit.
