This selection of three different loose leaf green teas from 160 year old tea company Jugetsudo offers a well-rounded introduction to their high quality products. Each tea can be enjoyed hot or cold, with the mecha, sakura sencha, and the yuzu sencha each carrying distinct flavor profiles to enhance different occasions.
Mecha is made of young green tea buds, which are packed with umami flavor but lack the bitterness of a more mature green tea leaf. The smooth but flavorful tea is a favorite of sushi chefs, and the Jugetsudo mecha has matcha powder added to it for color and vibrance.
Jugetsudo's sakura sencha combines young green tea leaves with cherry blossom petals for a subtly sweet flavor that is perfect for spring.
The yuzu sencha combines Jugetsudo's high quality sencha with yuzu from Kochi prefecture. This fruit is typically enjoyed for the winter solstice in Japan, but the refreshing citrus flavor will brighten up any day.
