Buy NowThe Kobashi Studio Karabiner Keychain Twist is a refined everyday accessory that combines traditional Japanese metalworking with practical functionality. Designed for everyday carry, it provides a durable and elegant way to organize keys while showcasing the artisanal craftsmanship that defines Kobashi Studio.
The keychain features a sand-cast figure-8 snap hook, paired with a heavy twist chain and a flat double ring for securely holding keys or small accessories. The distinctive twisted chain adds visual depth and durability, giving the piece a robust yet refined presence.
The 4 mm twist chain is produced by a historic Japanese metal parts manufacturer founded in 1930, reflecting decades of expertise in precision hardware production. The components are crafted from solid brass, which will naturally develop a rich patina over time, enhancing the character of the piece through regular use.
Only the spring lever of the snap hook is made from steel for structural strength, and it is plated in a solid brass color to maintain visual continuity with the rest of the piece.
Combining traditional materials with thoughtful design, the Karabiner Keychain Twist embodies Kobashi Studio’s philosophy of creating durable, functional objects that age beautifully with use.
Each piece is presented in a wax paper envelope, reinforcing its utilitarian yet refined character.
