Buy NowThe Kobashi Studio Leather Card Case is a refined compact wallet designed for those who appreciate minimal design combined with exceptional materials. Handmade in Japan, it reflects the philosophy of Junichi Kobashi, where functionality, craftsmanship, and understated aesthetics come together.
The wallet is crafted from Kobashi Studio’s original saddle leather, a premium hide produced by a historic tannery in Himeji founded in 1905. This leather is 100% vegetable pit-tanned, a traditional process that results in a durable material with a rich natural sheen and the ability to develop a beautiful patina with daily use.
Its compact card case style design allows it to hold up to 12 cards, while still providing space for folded bills and coins, making it a practical everyday wallet without unnecessary bulk.
The edges are carefully polished and hand-dyed, highlighting the artisanal finishing techniques used in its construction. In keeping with Kobashi Studio’s design philosophy, the wallet features a clean, logo-free exterior, allowing the beauty of the leather and craftsmanship to speak for itself.
Over time, the leather will soften and darken slightly, developing a unique patina that reflects the owner’s daily use.
Each piece is presented in a wax paper envelope, reinforcing its understated and utilitarian character.
