Crafted from lustrous Japanese saddle leather by a Himeji tanner since 1911 and handmade in Chiba, Japan, the leather is exclusively 100% vegetable-tanned, boasting a delightful aroma.
Himeji Leather is celebrated as 'a rarity in the world' due to its exclusive use of natural vegetable tanning. The factory houses small vats filled with top-quality tanning agents sourced from Brazilian mimosa. The leather undergoes a gradual immersion process, moving from the lowest tanning concentration to the highest, allowing for slow and natural permeation over time.
In Chiba, a dedicated craftsman meticulously oversees every step of the Kobashi wallet production, including the time-consuming hand-polished finishing, ensuring the highest quality and craftsmanship.
Kobashi Studio is a small Japanese Tokyo-based atelier specializing in solid brass accessories of the highest quality and detailing found today. Its founder Junichi Kobashi draws upon completely handcrafted production using vintage machinery and manual processes to create the most special and beautiful brass and leather pieces we have ever seen.
