Buy NowThe Kobashi Studio Modern Classic Kikumon Bandana showcases exquisite Japanese textile artistry, crafted in Tokyo by a scarf company established in 1918. The bandana merges traditional techniques with modern aesthetics in a single piece – substantial, refined, and rich in cultural reference.
The bandana is made from 100% cotton, silk-screen printed and expertly dyed so the color permeates both sides of the fabric. The distinctive Hanada-iro light blue – a slightly grayish light blue cherished in Japanese culture for over a millennium – provides a serene backdrop for the intricate chrysanthemum motif.
The design itself is hand-illustrated by Kobashi Studio founder Junichi Kobashi, featuring an array of chrysanthemum (kikumon) blooms and wave motifs that create a dynamic yet elegant composition. Each bandana is meticulously crafted to ensure consistent quality and visual appeal.
Presented in a Japanese wax paper envelope, this bandana functions as both a practical accessory and a piece of wearable art – reflecting Japan's rich textile heritage alongside Kobashi Studio's contemporary design sensibilities.
