The star of this all-natural incense from Kousaido is opoponax, a sweet, mild, and celestial-smelling resin from Somalia. Sometimes called sweet myrrh, opoponax has a decidedly Eastern scent, a balsamic woodsiness and a mild, peppery sweetness. It's been used for centuries to soothe irritated skin and generally create an aura of calm.
We love it for meditating, though we've been known to blaze a stick when we want a mellow, low-stress vibe around the house.
