MOMOTARO JEANS MMGJ0202 15oz #002 "Silk" Denim Type II Jacket

About this product

A true expression of luxury in denim, the Momotaro Type II Silk Jacket elevates a classic workwear silhouette with an extraordinary fabric blend: 58% Zimbabwean cotton and 42% silk. Woven with silk as the weft, this denim offers a smooth, refined hand feel and elegant sheen – without compromising the structure and durability of traditional Japanese denim.

The result is a fabric that balances the rugged heritage of indigo denim with the indulgent comfort of silk, enriched by the deep blue tone of Tokuno Blue dye. The silk interior enhances breathability and moisture control, making this jacket not only visually striking but also ideal for transitional and warmer climates. Against the skin, it delivers an unexpectedly soft sensation – more akin to luxury loungewear than raw denim.

Cut in an updated Type II silhouette, the jacket features a slightly narrower fit through the body and sleeves for a clean, tailored look. Discreet hand-warmer pockets integrated into the side seams and inner compartments provide function without disrupting the minimalist aesthetic. Signature Momotaro details – like extra-thick metal buttons and a indigo-dyed cowhide leather patch – underscore the craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Part of Momotaro’s elevated new direction, the Silk Jacket brings together traditional Japanese technique and luxury-level design, offering a denim experience that feels as good as it looks.

Fit Notes: New Momotaro jackets run true to size. If you wear a size M in American t-shirts, you should select a size M in this one. However, body types vary, so we always recommend checking our size chart for the perfect fit.
