MOMOTARO JEANS MMJZ0102 15oz #100 "Silk" Straight Jeans

About this product

Blending tradition with innovation, the Momotaro #100 Silk Jeans push the boundaries of Japanese denim by incorporating 42% silk and 58% Zimbabwe cotton. Using silk as the weft thread – a notoriously difficult fiber to weave – results in a fabric that is exceptionally smooth to the touch, yet retains the structure and durability expected of premium denim. This unique composition blends the elegant luster of silk with the rugged beauty of classic denim, creating a texture that is both refined and substantial, enriched by the deep indigo hue of Tokuno Blue.

The fabric composition has been meticulously reengineered, utilizing finer weft threads to achieve a more polished and sophisticated finish. Notably, the silk in the weft enhances comfort, as silk’s higher moisture absorption and quick-drying properties make these jeans ideal for warmer seasons. The silk backing, which sits directly against the skin, provides an indulgent sensation reminiscent of silk sleepwear – a level of luxury rarely found in denim.

The #100 model cut features a classic straight fit with a balanced, versatile silhouette. It features a moderate thigh width and a subtle taper from the knee down for a clean, refined look. With a slightly higher rise and a comfortably relaxed waist, it provides an easy, natural fit.

These jeans feature premium, high-end details, including a waistband interlining (preventing color transfer when tucking in a shirt), smooth flush-set rivets, custom zip fly, a larger coin pocket, a cowhide indigo-dyed leather patch, and hidden rivets – all elements that enhance both durability and luxury.

Fit Notes: These jeans have a standard sizing. We recommend choosing your usual size. However, as always, we recommend checking the size chart first to find your perfect size. The fabric is sanforized, so shrinkage will be minimal. The waist will experience the typical stretching seen in sanforized denim. Expect approximately 0.5 to 1 inch of stretching.
