Buy NowThe Momotaro Wool × Cashmere Ombre Check Shirt is an exceptional blend of luxury textile craft and hard-wearing workwear construction. Woven in Japan’s Bishu region, one of the country’s most respected wool-producing areas, the fabric is a custom-developed ombré check that transitions beautifully through tone, delivering depth without loud contrast.
The cloth itself is a premium wool–cashmere blend, combining wool’s natural warmth and structure with cashmere’s unmistakable softness and refined handfeel. It’s the kind of fabric that feels elevated immediately – smooth, warm, and richly textured – while remaining effortless to wear.
Built on a classic work shirt foundation, the patterning is both functional and clean. The back features double action pleats on both sides for comfortable shoulder mobility, while a compact collar keeps the silhouette sharp. A subtle but highly practical detail: the collar includes a reinforcement facing designed to help protect the fabric from perspiration at the neckline, improving longevity.
Where this shirt truly stands apart is in the execution. Construction is impeccable, featuring triple chain-stitched seamsfor exceptional durability and a true heritage finish. And in a detail that’s rarely done this well, the chest pockets are precisely pattern-matched, reinforcing the sense of quiet luxury and uncompromising standards throughout.
Fit Notes: New Momotaro shirts run true to size. If you wear a size M in American t-shirts, you should select a size M in this one. However, body types vary, so we always recommend checking our size chart for the perfect fit.
