The Moonstar Gym Classic Hi Sneakers build on the brand’s iconic low-top model, offering a high-top silhouette that enhances both support and style while maintaining the same timeless design.
Handcrafted in Kurume, Japan, these sneakers are produced using the traditional kiln-fired vulcanization process, a rare technique that ensures exceptional durability, flexibility, and long-term shape retention. Each pair is carefully fired for approximately 70 minutes at 120°C, creating a strong, inseparable bond between the upper and the rubber sole.
Inspired by 1950s and 1960s military training footwear, the Gym Classic Hi retains a clean, understated aesthetic, now with added ankle coverage for a slightly more structured look. The result is a sneaker that feels lightweight yet robust, equally suited for everyday wear.
With over 150 years of shoemaking heritage, Moonstar continues to preserve this artisanal production method, delivering footwear that balances function, comfort, and timeless design.
Fit Notes: Moonstar sneakers generally run slightly large. We recommend sizing down one size, especially if you are between sizes or prefer to wear them with thinner socks. In most cases, you will need to go one size down from your usual UK/US size. If you have wider feet, you may prefer to stay with your usual size for a more comfortable fit.
