The Newgate Metro Clock is a mid-century wall clock that has nothing to prove and knows it. The design is clean, the proportions are right, and the acrylic case comes in colors that actually commit – Citrus Yellow, Black, and Orange, each one a statement rather than a suggestion.
Newgate has been making clocks in Britain for over 35 years, and the Metro sits squarely in their strength zone: a retro-modern shape that works equally well in a kitchen, living room, or office without trying too hard to fit any of them. The result is a clock that looks deliberate on the wall and functions without friction in any room it lands in.
At 16. 5 inches wide, the Metro reads confidently from across a room without dominating a wall. The high-quality acrylic case is lightweight and easy to hang – a single nail slot on the back handles installation in under a minute. Metal hands over a clean dial face, protected by a glass lens.
The movement is a quartz silent sweep – no ticking, no interruption, and no noise in a quiet room beyond a faint whirring for the most sensitive listeners. One AA battery keeps it running.
