High in the Dolomites, I came across a Refugio airing fresh sheets in the crisp alpine air. The smell was impossibly clean. Inhale deeply, and you’ll catch subtle hints of Celery Root, Sicilian Lemon, and Lily of The Valley drifting on the type of fresh air you can only smell above 8,000 feet.
