5 oz. selvedge denim, woven on a 1950s Sakamoto shuttle loom to recreate the distinctive texture and weight of vintage selvedge denim. The denim is then overdyed with Japanese binchotan white charcoal, made from the wood of the ubame oak tree and traditionally used in Japanese cooking.

This process stiffens and darkens the fabric, creating an exceptional dusky black-blue hue that varies from jeans to jeans.
