PURE BLUE JAPAN SLB-005 "Slub Denim" 16.5oz Slim Straight Jeans

About this product

Through a refined selection of slub yarns, Pure Blue Japan's Slub fabric achieves a distinctive texture, albeit not as extreme as its Double Slub counterpart. This 16.5oz fabric offers a textured surface that becomes more pronounced upon contact with water, promising unique fading patterns that reflect individual wear. Balancing a medium-weight feel with a heavyweight appearance, this fabric provides a sensory delight for denim enthusiasts.

Produced in small batches, each pair of jeans is a rare find, adorned with premium Pure Blue Japan details such as iron buttons, high-quality pocket bags, heavy-duty bar tacks, and long stitching. A custom lambskin natural leather patch adds a touch of luxury, while the signature Pure Blue Japan 'shoai' embroidery, depicting the Indigofera leaf, underscores the brand's dedication to craftsmanship.

This pair features a slim straight cut with a mid rise. It's slightly slim in the top block with a straight leg from the knee down. It has a standard sizing. We recommend choosing your usual size. However, as always, we recommend checking the size chart first to find your perfect size. It is unsanforized but one washed, so there will be no shrinkage. The waist will experience the typical stretching seen in PBJ denim. Expect approximately 1 inches of stretching.

Pure Blue Japan is the dream of Kenichi Iwaya. Passionate about denim, he grew up in Okayama and acquired experience working in different mills around the region, until in 1997 he decided to create his own brand. Ever since, Iwaya-San has been obsessed with producing incredible fabrics with unique, slubby textures and a distinct character. This is why he only works with shuttle looms from Ibara, Okayama, using only the best cottons from the United States and India. Since its emergence until today, Pure Blue Japan has consolidated its position as one of the touchstone labels in Japanese Denim, and its excellent work has established it as one of the masters of indigo dye.
