Buy NowRocky Mountain Featherbed was founded in Wyoming (the Cowboy State) in the late 1960's. RMFB created its iconic down vest with a seamless single-piece leather yoke for cowboys and their down vests became infamous for their cold-proof and heat-retaining features like those of feather beds.
In 2005 35 Summers Ltd in Japan acquired the license to manufacture and re-create these unique and iconic garments down to every exact detail, using the rights to distribute the branded name. The Ranch Jacket from RMFB takes the form of the famous Mountain Parka, one of the most recognisable outerwear silhouettes of all time.
Numerous companies have manufactured their own style throughout the years but with common features seen throughout - a hooded, zip-front, four-pocket jacket with possible heat retention properties. The simple and functional design meant it could be used for a number of activities while its weatherproof properties meant it could survive in most environments.
Inspired by an original duck canvas Mountain Parka in Kinji Teramoto's archive, the Ranch Jacket from RMFB has been cut in Japan from a tightly woven duck canvas, light yet extremely robust. The single piece leather western yoke is a nod to their signature style while there are practical elements a plenty.
The high collar acts as a protective barrier against the elements while the slanted chest pockets and two large flap pockets provide ample storage space. There are also side entry hand warmer pockets as well as a rear map pocket while fit can be altered with the waist and hem drawstring adjusters as well as cuff snap button adjusters.
Brass snap buttons and a two way YKK zip complete the look. 100% cotton Duck Canvas Tightly woven & extremely robust Based on vintage piece in their archive Single piece leather Western yoke Stand collar Slanted chest pockets Two large flap pockets Side entry hand warmer pockets Waist & hem drawstring adjusters Snap button cuff adjuster 2 way YKK zip Made in Japan
