The ROTOTO Washi Cushion Stripe Crew Socks combine quiet, understated styling with a thoughtful technical construction. While the exterior appears clean and simple, the soles are knit with Washi yarn pile – a traditional Japanese paper yarn celebrated for its exceptional performance properties.
Washi yarn is renowned for its superb moisture-wicking and quick-drying attributes, along with natural deodorizing properties, making it ideal for underfoot use. The pile construction delivers a distinctive crisp, refreshing sensation with every step – a feel unique to Washi-based textiles.
The cotton cuff offers a soft, gentle touch against the skin, balancing the crispness of the Washi sole with smooth, comfortable contact at the calf. This thoughtful layering of materials reflects ROTOTO's design philosophy: each fiber selected and placed for maximum functional benefit.
These socks are produced in northwestern Nara Prefecture, a region whose sock manufacturing tradition is deeply rooted in centuries of textile heritage. ROTOTO values the knowledge and craftsmanship of local factory artisans who preserve this tradition, believing that truly exceptional socks can only be made through the combination of the right material, the right machine, and the right craftsmanship.
