The Samurai Elemental Flannel Jacket is a refined yet rugged interpretation of a classic A-1 style flight jacket, crafted from Samurai’s exclusive Elemental flannel fabric woven in Niigata Prefecture, one of Japan’s most respected regions for yarn-dyed textiles. This jacket embodies Samurai’s philosophy of combining intensive material development with uncompromising construction, resulting in a piece designed to age beautifully with wear.

The Elemental flannel is woven using exceptionally thick yarns typically reserved for heavyweight denim, giving the fabric substantial body without sacrificing comfort. To enhance durability, the warp yarns are twinned, increasing tensile strength, while slub yarns are used in the weft to introduce a naturally irregular, textured surface. After weaving, the fabric is lightly brushed, producing a soft hand and a visual character reminiscent of traditional wool serge – despite being made entirely from cotton.
