The Seuvas 10oz Canvas Coverall Logwood is a deeply considered interpretation of the classic workwear coverall, brought to life through historic Japanese canvas production and rare natural dyeing techniques. At its core is Kurashiki Hampu canvas, a legendary material produced in the city of Kurashiki using the same methods since 1888 – a fabric renowned for its honesty, durability, and quiet beauty.
This coverall is cut from 10oz Kurashiki canvas, offering an ideal balance between structure and wearability. It feels substantial without being heavy, making it perfectly suited for year-round use. The silhouette draws from vintage chore and work jackets, refined with modern proportions that allow for effortless layering while maintaining a clean, timeless profile.
What truly sets this piece apart is the Logwood dyeing process. The fabric is dyed using pigment extracted from the heartwood of the Logwood tree, native to southern Mexico and Central America. This traditional natural dye produces a rich, nuanced tone with subtle depth and variation – impossible to replicate with synthetic processes. Over time, the color continues to evolve, developing a soft patina unique to each wearer.
Construction details reflect Seuvas' commitment to craft. The jacket features triple-stitched raglan sleeve construction, improving durability while allowing greater freedom of movement – an update that respects workwear function without compromising aesthetics. The sewing throughout highlights the beauty of the canvas itself, letting the material and construction speak without excess.
A standout detail is the first button at the collar, crafted from pottery stone and hand-painted in Amakusa, Kyushu. These Amakusa buttons are traditionally associated with fine Japanese ceramics, and their use here adds a subtle yet striking artisanal accent that elevates the garment beyond standard workwear.
Produced in Okayama, Japan, this coverall represents everything Seuvas stands for: material-driven…
