These Seuvas 10oz Canvas Tapered 2-Tuck Pants reinterpret the classic suiting trouser for everyday wear, built around one of the world's finest canvases: Kurashiki Hampu. Sourced from the historic Kurashiki region of Okayama Prefecture, this celebrated fabric is renowned for its distinctive texture, exceptional durability, and rich heritage – originally used for boat sails and later refined into one of Japan's most prized everyday textiles.
The canvas is woven on century-old shuttle looms, which accentuate the natural nep texture of the cotton fibers and produce a fabric with subtle irregularity and depth that flat-woven canvas cannot match. The result is a textile that feels substantial, ages beautifully, and develops more character with every wear.
The silhouette features a roomy top block combined with a clean taper toward the ankle, creating a relaxed yet polished profile that transitions effortlessly from casual styling to more elevated looks. The double-pleated front (2-tuck) enhances comfort and mobility while adding subtle tailoring depth, allowing the trousers to drape naturally without feeling restrictive – a silhouette refined through the careful study of countless vintage trousers.
Construction details follow traditional menswear conventions, with slant waist pockets, rear welt pockets, a button fly, and an adjustable waistband for personalized fit. A standard pant that pairs effortlessly with anything in the wardrobe.
Fit Notes: These trousers fit true to size. Compared to most global American brands, a size M fits similarly to a standard American Medium. We recommend taking your usual size for a comfortable fit. The relaxed top block combined with a tapered leg offers comfort without feeling oversized. As always, we strongly recommend checking our size chart and comparing it with your best-fitting trousers to ensure the right fit.
