Buy NowFor the Scout Jacket we wanted a functional modern design, heavily inspired by our favorite heritage workwear garments. Loosely based on a vintage Type III jacket, we ditched the smaller welt pockets in favor of large drop-in chore coat style pockets, curved the front and back yokes, and added acorn chest pockets and a lasso stitch detail to the front pocket for just a touch of western flair.
The fabric is a 12oz. cotton duck canvas from the famous Mt. Vernon mills in Georgia. The 100% cotton fabric is a classic workwear tan color which ages beautifully with years of wear. Matching gold thread and copper hardware round out the design.
A refined take on the classic denim jacket, we added a bit of length to the body and opted for a two-piece sleeve for a better fit. Expect this to fit similarly to a modern modified trucker jacket.
As always, every garment is crafted start to finish by one person in the Skinner workshop using 15 vintage industrial sewing machines we've rescued from shuttered factories over the years.
