Buy NowThe Casa Magna Colorado is a collaboration between two major cigar families, Manuel Quesada and Néstor Plasencia. The cigar was developed to showcase Nicaraguan tobacco, combining the Quesada family's long history as Cuban tobacco merchants and cigar makers with the Plasencia family's extensive tobacco-growing operations in Nicaragua.
The cigar became famous almost immediately after the Casa Magna Colorado was named Cigar Aficionado's No. 1 Cigar of 2008, receiving a 93-point rating. That award transformed Casa Magna from a relatively unknown project into one of the best-known collaborations between Quesada and Plasencia.
The Colorado remains centered on the same idea that made the original successful: a relatively straightforward Nicaraguan blend that relies on the character of the tobacco rather than an elaborate blending story.
