Mu magazine was born in 1979, dealing with occult and supernatural phenomena. Mr. Ohrai was in charge of the covers of the first four issues. The motif of this shirt is from the cover of the first issue of Mu, featuring a gallant female warrior carrying a sword, combined with motifs of ancient civilizations' ruins, such as pyramids and sphinxes, and spaceships, to captivate the imagination.
This world, expressed on the canvas of an Aloha shirt, makes it a fascinating piece for both the viewer and the wearer. Noriyoshi Ohrai began his career as an illustrator in 1962 after graduating from Tokyo University of the Arts. Known for his dense style of science fiction illustrations, he gained international fame in 1980 when George Lucas commissioned him to illustrate the international poster for 'Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.'
