Since 1977, Sun Surf has been dedicated to reproducing the finest Hawaiian shirts of the 1930s through to the 1950s, meticulously researching vintage garments and faithfully recreating their fabrics, prints and construction. Each shirt is produced in Japan to original specifications, preserving the authenticity and character of the golden age of Aloha wear.
The Scarecrow design is reproduced from an exceptionally rare shirt dating to the early 1950s, originally produced under the Surfiders Sportswear label. Like all of Sun Surf's archival reproductions, the artwork has been carefully restored to capture not only every detail of the original print, but also the spirit and charm that made these shirts so distinctive.
Cut in Japan from an outstanding crepe rayon, the fabric has a unique texture and fluidity that brings the design to life. Lightweight and breathable with a beautiful drape, it perfectly complements the vibrant all-over print, making for a shirt that feels every bit as special as the vintage original that inspired it.
