Buy NowThe Flat Head’s 10oz Indigo Wabash Western Shirt brings together heritage craftsmanship and authentic Western styling in a piece built to age beautifully. Made from the brand’s original 10oz denim woven on vintage shuttle looms, the fabric is dyed to an exceptionally deep indigo that develops high-contrast fading and a rich, uneven texture over time. The iconic Wabash dot-stripe pattern is achieved through a carefully tested discharge process, ensuring the dots retain a natural, soft appearance rather than a harsh printed look.
Thoughtful construction details elevate the shirt’s character. The Western yoke is cut with the fabric rotated 90 degrees to create a subtle contrast with the body, while the chest pockets – flaps included – are perfectly pattern-matched so the stripes flow cleanly across the front. Two-needle chain-stitched rolled seams reinforce the main panels, and as the shirt breaks in, these stitches expand and contract with the fabric, producing the distinctive puckering that adds depth, texture, and striking fade variation.
For finishing touches, the shirt features natural yellow mother-of-pearl snap buttons whose color shifts with the angle of the light, adding refined contrast to the rugged fabric. True to its shuttle-loom origins, the shirt incorporates selvedge details along the inner placket and side hems, as well as vintage-inspired triangular gussets at the hem – not only a nod to classic workwear construction but also a visual detail that completes the piece’s unique character.
Fit Notes: Flat Head shirts fit more true to size compared to other upper garments from the brand, such as T-shirts or sweatshirts, which tend to run small. Although the cut is slim, we consider the true-to-size recommendation accurate. As always, we suggest checking our size chart to ensure the best fit.
