THE FLAT HEAD 10oz Indigo Wabash Work Shirt

About this product

The Flat Head presents a unique Wabash Work Shirt, crafted from original 10oz indigo selvedge fabric featuring a distinctive dotted stripe wabash pattern, popular with both railroaders and regular working men during the 1920s for its neat appearance and hard-wearing nature. The white dots impart a soft visual appeal, while the shirt's attention to detail and aging characteristics promise a faded look over time. Woven on vintage shuttle looms, this fabric develops a unique texture and color variation, further enhanced by dot discharge dyeing.

For durability, the shirt boasts triple-stitched seams and diamond-pattern urea buttons. The use of vintage-inspired triangular gussets adds both reinforcement and design flair. With its meticulous construction and timeless style, The Flat Head's Wabash Work Shirt embodies the essence of workwear aesthetics.

The shirts from Flat Head are more True to Size compared to other upper garments of the brand, such as t-shirts or sweatshirts, which tend to run small. Despite having a slim fit, we consider the True to Size sizing to be accurate. However, as always, we recommend consulting our size chart for the perfect fit.

The Flat Head is one of the benchmark Japanese repro Americana-style brands. Its founder, Mayashi Kobayashi, is known in the scene for being a die-hard fanatic of 1950s American style. Inspired by the music, motorbikes, cars, architecture of the era, and with a clear rockabilly influence, Kobayashi created in 1996 a truly authentic brand that today has some firm devotees. It stands out for the extreme quality of each one of its pieces. The brand is always very much aware of a curious philosophy that believes that a product is fully finished only after the customer has worn and moulded it to themselves.
