Buy NowCrafted from Zimbabwe cotton, renowned for its long fibers, these Wide Jeans from The Flat Head offer both substance and comfort with a 14.5oz midweight denim, perfect for all year round. Utilizing shuttle looms, the denim fabric showcases the highest quality of Zimbabwe cotton, ensuring durability and a supple texture for comfortable wearing. With an impressively pronounced, vertical weave – a raindrop-like texture that yields the coveted 'Doshaburi' fade, each pair includes a yellow and red 'Doshaburi fade' bandana for added style. Featuring a wide, relaxed silhouette, these jeans are ideal for those seeking a laid-back yet stylish look.
Designed with meticulous attention to detail, these jeans feature hidden arc pockets that gradually emerge as the denim fades, adding depth to the design over time. The buttonholes are reinforced to enhance durability and prevent fraying even after decades. Original iron buttons and copper-plated iron rivets, treated for rust resistance, age gracefully alongside the denim, enhancing the overall vintage aesthetic.
These jeans run slightly small in the one wash version. In general, we recommend choosing one size larger than your usual. However, as always, we recommend checking the size chart first to find your perfect size. It is unsanforized but one washed, so there will be no shrinkage.
The Flat Head is one of the benchmark Japanese repro Americana-style brands. Its founder, Mayashi Kobayashi, is known in the scene for being a die-hard fanatic of 1950s American style. Inspired by the music, motorbikes, cars, architecture of the era, and with a clear rockabilly influence, Kobayashi created in 1996 a truly authentic brand that today has some firm devotees. It stands out for the extreme quality of each one of its pieces. The brand is always very much aware of a curious philosophy that believes that a product is fully finished only after the customer has worn and moulded it to themselves.
