Buy NowCrafted from 12oz lightweight denim, inspired by the highly sought-after WWII models, these jeans from The Flat Head exude vintage charm. Evoking the simplicity of wartime production, they feature minimalist details reminiscent of the era, such as U-shaped pockets and decorative stitching.
The denim fabric, woven on vintage shuttle looms with irregular yarns, offers a natural texture and lightweight feel, ensuring comfortable wear. With deep indigo dyeing, expect rich fades over time, adding character to the trousers.
Reflecting the wartime aesthetic, distinctive details adorn these jeans, from laurel leaf buttons to reinforced bar-tacked pockets. The use of vintage-inspired fabrics for the front pockets adds authenticity, with each pair boasting a unique design. Featuring a wide relaxed cut with a slight taper from the knee down, these jeans promise both comfort and timeless style.
These jeans run slightly small in the one wash version. In general, we recommend choosing one size larger than your usual. However, as always, we recommend checking the size chart first to find your perfect size. It is unsanforized but one washed, so there will be no shrinkage.
The Flat Head is one of the benchmark Japanese repro Americana-style brands. Its founder, Mayashi Kobayashi, is known in the scene for being a die-hard fanatic of 1950s American style. Inspired by the music, motorbikes, cars, architecture of the era, and with a clear rockabilly influence, Kobayashi created in 1996 a truly authentic brand that today has some firm devotees. It stands out for the extreme quality of each one of its pieces. The brand is always very much aware of a curious philosophy that believes that a product is fully finished only after the customer has worn and moulded it to themselves.
